Answer Example
"IT business consultants should have the experience to understand the basics of a wide array of business functions from both operations and information processing perspectives. Additionally, I feel it is important that an IT business consultant has worked within a number of roles within various types of project teams and on projects of various sizes. The combination of these two sets of qualities helps them to have the high-level visionary perspective that is required to develop technology strategy while also demonstrating the ability to understand the details that are important to consider while implementing solutions.
I also believe IT business consultants need strong facilitation skills. We are often asked to lead through influence and spend a lot of time educating, gaining support, and resolving conflicts. It is important to be able to understand all of the perspectives involved and weave them into a shared perspective. These skills foster the trust necessary to bridge groups together and drive solutions from discovery to implementation."
