Question 32 of 33

How do you test and monitor the efficiency of the solutions you recommend and/or implement?

"The testing strategies I recommend depend on whether I am working to develop a custom solution or am implementing a 3rd party software. I also consider resource availability and the technological maturity of the business I am working with. If the solution is custom, the teams I work on typically develop testing strategies that are a mix of unit testing, load testing, automated testing, manual testing, and end-user testing. After implementation, we often deploy solutions for monitoring performance, logging errors, and gathering end-user feedback depending on the criticality of the system to the business.

The process for vendor implementations varies and depends on what they have to offer and how well it integrates with the technology of my clients. I always recommend that my users fully review any new features before they accept them into a production environment. The level of testing depends on the feasibility and potential for business disruption if something goes wrong."
