HireVue aims to provide effective AI that will help their clients screen "unqualified candidates" from "top performers." So be wary of the conflicting advice they offer which serves this very goal. For example, they recommend finding a quiet and professional space to perform your interview. "This is your time to showcase who you are and what you can add to an organization." But they also suggest, "If your dog barks or kid runs across the screen-relax. It's okay. Just relax. Your employer will understand, and if they don't, perhaps it's not the right culture fit for you. And that's okay. Take a deep breath, and be yourself."
Your goal is to deliver a great interview with sincerity while putting your best foot forward. HireVue's goal is to increase its profit margin through its platform, product development, and marketing. So, how prepared you are to deliver your best interview will be assessed as "an indicator of future job performance." So make sure you are in a relatively quiet place with as little background noise as possible. Find a location free of distractions. And lastly, your aim is to stand out as their target talent and grab the attention of the hiring manager who will later review the recorded video. Ultimately, it's their opinion that matters most.

"At my current office, I've frequently been told I am the most positive person there. As much as I appreciate being valued for that, I've come to realize I don't want to be the most positive person. I'd rather be just one positive individual in a team of optimistic and positive professionals. That's when I realized I needed to find a position with a company where everyone stood behind their company and the company's mission and values. So that is why I am pursuing a position with Sedgwick. I want to do something where I am genuinely making a difference. Work that is rewarding, and makes everyone feel good about doing their job."
