Adapt their keywords and culture statements to your bio when you're able to do so naturally. When answering questions in an on-demand recorded interview, try to relax, and be natural, while speaking with poise in a level, yet enthusiastic tone. Be confident and believe in yourself. Maintain eye contact, and smile softly. Be yourself, as you would in a live interview. Even though you are talking to a computer, you want to imagine you are speaking to a real person.

The HireVue platform provides "interview guides" in their interview builder. These consist of categorized interview questions a company can choose from for customizing each interview, and how they are assessed, with the aim of recruiting talent most suited to their company's goals and culture. Most questions are situational judgment questions, presenting hypothetical situations, with the aim of offering a structured interview process, to "consistent talent assessment for fairer hiring" while mitigating bias and preventing poor hiring decisions.

HireVue refers to their AI as "assessment models." Their assessment models record each interview, and assess "skills, behaviors, and competencies specific to the job." It will study your adaptability, communication, empathy, confidence, dependability, drive for results, emotional intelligence, integrity, safety and compliance, and willingness to learn, relationship-building skills, and collaboration, to name a few. It will classify one's experience level for each category as novice, developing, intermediate, advanced, and expert. Its findings are compiled into a candidate insights report, and forward the videos and reports onto the hiring manager. "This is an opportunity to share your story as a candidate.
