Be mindful of the nonverbal cues of nervous or stressful behavior, such as biting your nails, cracking your knuckles, cradling your neck with one or both hands, crossing your arms, fidgeting, which could include any small movements of your hands or feet, freezing your posture, leaning back and away from the camera, shifting your weight, swaying, rocking or tilting back in your chair. Instead, lean forward, keep your posture and body language open and relaxed, and take the opportunity to provide context to anything you may be concerned about that might turn up on your background check. Explain the unique context of your situation and maintain control of your narrative.

Here is some content from Sedgwick's website about the background checks they perform in their hiring process. "The nature of our work is such that we may need to make background inquiries regarding individuals connected with a casefile to validate information we are given, satisfy contractual obligations, comply with regulatory or legal requirement, or to combat fraud, financial crime and money laundering. As part of the validation process we may check with other organizations, including credit reference agencies, data providers and other parties who may assist in validating the casefile or providing our services."
