Being a physician owned and physician led organization, talk about the working relationships you have developed with physicians throughout your career. How would you rate your ability to work closely with physicians?

"As a Sonographer, I am fortunate to have worked with many great Radiologists during my career. With all of them, I keep lines of communication wide open and never hesitate to talk to them for clarification or to get feedback on my readings. Some definitely have their preferences and I do my best to cater to their needs in my readings. One past Radiologist that I work with tried to talk me into joining the new organization he was leaving for because we had developed such a great working relationship. Being a loyal employee, I was not able to do that though."

      How to Answer

No matter the type of practice, the relationship between a physician and the ancillary staff is vitally important for the success of a practice. Great patient care comes from all who work with a patient and you need to have the ability to work well with the physicians and mid-level providers that you care for patients with. Talk about how you foster your relationships with the physicians that you've worked closely with. Give examples of how you have worked well with others in the past and talk about any positive feedback you've received from them.

      2nd Answer Example

"My career as a Surgical Technician has put me working side by side with some of the best surgeons in the region. I come from the standpoint that we are both working together for the same goal: to help our patient the best we can. For me to do my part here, I need to know my surgeon and how they operate on each patient for me to be able to best assist them. With every new surgeon I work with, I take time to meet with them prior to our first case to talk about the fin details of processes and how I can be as effective as possible for them. I've found that each surgeon really appreciates me initiating this dialogue rather than doing it during the actual surgery."
