This may feel like a casual question; however, it serves several purposes. It can reveal how well you balance your personal life with your professional life, offering insights into whether you are likely to burn out on the job or bring your personal problems to work. It could also potentially reveal how committed you are to your profession. For example, if you have expressed throughout your interview that you are committed to your career and then share that you are taking night classes at a school for massage therapy, then you've essentially informed your interviewer that you may not see much of a future at Aon. This happens more commonly than one would think, and your interviewer needs to take everything into consideration when trying to hire the right person for the job.
