Stress can often be a regular part of the day-to-day work experience. Talk to the interviewer about which areas of your career are the most stressful. Ensure that your answer does not include a factor that would make you appear unfit for the position. (IE: a bus driver should not find driving the most stressful part of the job).

"I need to be on time with my schedule to ensure that my clients are taken care of. The part of my career that brings me the most stress is when the schedule is running behind due to a lack of hustle on my team's part. I currently have a few delinquent team members on the brink of termination. I have tried to help them out a few times, but now the HR department has become involved. I never like to see people leave, but you cannot force others to have a strong work ethic. The turnover in our department is currently my biggest stressor."

"I've worked with many personality types in my career. Some are driven and ambitious but don't have control over their emotions. If they are stressed out at home or work, everyone knows. They allow their stress to dictate their behavior, which affects everyone else on the team. There are times when things become stressful, but I have a grounded perspective and a good attitude and rarely allow my stress to get the best of me. I have my stress instead of it having me. Aside from the stress others may bring and how that affects the other members of the team, I experience stress when contingencies sabotage my well-laid-out plans. However, I always plan for contingencies and can keep the ball rolling."

Being micro-managed by more than one person.

Great answer! If I were the interviewer I would probably ask follow-up questions to try to understand what specifically is stressful about this. Is it because it's multiple people, or do you do better when you're given responsibility/autonomy?

The most stress-inducing aspect of my job in cybersecurity is the ever-evolving landscape of threats. New vulnerabilities and attack vectors surface frequently, making it a continual challenge to stay ahead. However, this also drives me to keep learning and innovating. High stakes add stress too, but meticulous planning, systematic execution, continuous review, and a strong culture of security awareness help mitigate this.

These are all very valid causes of stress in the workplace. You took the right approach of describing your stressors and took it a step further to provide ways you overcome that stress, which makes your answer more impactful!
