"I have worked with diverse groups of people most of my career, including my time at university. A successful tech company should embrace diversity of all kinds. It's what spurs creative and innovative ideas!"

"I prefer to work with people who have open minds and are comfortable in their skin. Working with people who assume everyone is like them or prefers to be in the company of those who they think are just like them likely live in a perpetual fear state. That kind of mentality won't spark innovation, with no exposure to new ideas outside their range of experience. Honestly, I'd be scared of that environment and the stagnation it would offer my career. No thanks. I consider myself a creative individual and always think outside of the box. So I am most comfortable in a diverse and inclusive environment. I get to meet people I may not ordinarily have exposure to, and that offers great learning opportunities. New experiences spark one's imagination, and that is what Airbnb does, right? Creates opportunities for new experiences."

In my previous role, I was part of a global cybersecurity team with members from various countries, backgrounds, and perspectives. This diversity was not just in nationality, but also in professional backgrounds, gender, age, and more, reflecting Airbnb's 'Be a Host' principle. We had security professionals, IT specialists, and compliance officers working together towards a common goal. This diverse environment allowed for a richer pool of ideas and approaches, embodying the 'Every Frame Matters' principle. It also taught me the value of empathy, understanding, and open-mindedness in fostering effective collaboration and inclusivity. I believe such experiences equip me well to thrive in Airbnb's diverse, global environment, and I'm eager to bring this understanding and openness to my role as a Senior Staff Enterprise Security Engineer.
