Interviewers will be interested in the processes, procedures, and tools you use to diagnose and resolve network issues. They hope to learn if the processes and tools you use are unique and can be implemented in their organization or if your processes currently align with theirs. Alignment is good but may not bring incremental benefits to the organization. Having different processes or tools can be beneficial unless they conflict with those currently used by the organization. Performing due diligence before the interview and understanding what operations, processes, and tools the organization uses will help you decide how to answer this question.

"The easiest way I have found to determine the routing of a cable is to use a tone generator and tone locator. These are sometimes called fox and hound devices. I've used these when the cables on a network are not labeled properly, or the cable is not providing connectivity between the two designated devices. Once I identify the route of a cable, I label both ends to avoid having to replicate this task."
