One of the worst things that can happen to an organization related to information technology is its computer network being infected by a virus or subjected to a cyber-attack. This can either cause the network to fail or render it unavailable to the users for some time. Both of these events are difficult to resolve and cost the organization a lot of money. One of the key responsibilities of a senior network engineer is to address these threats and prevent them from occurring. The interviewer will be very interested in how you go about achieving this and the specific methodologies you use. Start by describing these at a very high level and be prepared for the interviewer to ask follow-up questions and explore this topic and a great amount of detail.

"One of my top priorities when managing an organization's IT network is to prevent viruses and cyber-attacks. These are much easier to prevent than they are to resolve. Specific ways I do this include educating the users about cybersecurity, not sharing their login information, and avoiding suspicious Internet websites. I also use firewalls and other network security devices to block access or detect intrusions. Finally, I work hard to stay aware of evolving threats and update my security procedures to address them, using more stringent authentication, software updates, and other measures."
