A Bank Teller is typically the face of a bank as they handle transactions for the bank's majority of customers. Bank's want to hire positive and customer service friendly candidates when filling their teller positions. Having cash handling and being able to work under pressure are key selling points to land yourself a job as a bank teller.

When you are preparing for a teller interview, be sure to begin your preparation by researching the bank or credit union. Know what kind of values the company has and what type of culture they want to facilitate. Example, if on the banking career website, they stress an active and helpful environment within their bank, be sure to jot that down in your notes and base your interview theme around those skills. Next, rehearse from a list of customer service related interview questions. You will want to emphasize how you handle customer complaints and customer grievances in a calm and confident manner. Working within a bank requires direct interaction with your coworkers at almost all hours of the day. Be able to tell the interviewer how you enjoy working with others. The interviewer will most likely ask how you handle coworker disputes, be sure to have a definite answer that points to examples of when you were able to resolve a conflict. Lastly, be passionate about your opportunity to work for the company you are interviewing for. If you can, stress to the interviewer how you could see yourself as a bank manager in the future.
