Working at Target may afford you many opportunities to step up and be a leader, whether it's through your dauntlessly cheerful attitude or taking ownership of tasks that others may not want to do. Even if you've never been a team lead or manager, opportunities for leadership are everywhere; you don't have to have a 'leader' title to exhibit leadership qualities! Describe a time you stepped into the role of leader, whether at work, at a volunteer position, or on a sports team.

"My senior year of high school, my chemistry class had a huge year-end group project. Group projects are hard for some people -- not everyone likes to take responsibility and be a leader. But I love it! I started out by breaking down the project into smaller tasks, and then asked my classmates what they would most enjoy doing. I offered to take the tasks that no one else wanted, and that took a lot of the pressure off of everyone else -- chemistry is one of my favorite subjects, so I didn't mind taking on the harder piece of work. I invited my group over to my house to work on the project together: we ordered pizza, listened to music, and made it as fun as we could. We ended up getting an A on the project, and everyone felt like it was a team effort."
