How to Answer: What are some of your weaknesses?
Advice and answer examples written specifically for a Target job interview.
26. What are some of your weaknesses?
How to Answer
We all have things we can improve about ourselves, so don't be afraid to share them. Consider describing some weaknesses that are non-essential to the job you're applying for at Target, weaknesses that you are actively trying to address, or try identifying the flip-side of one of your strengths. The interviewer will likely take note of these things and may even provide you with additional training or mentoring in these areas to help you excel. The interviewer wants to hear that your weaknesses are not critical for the job you are applying to.
1st Answer Example
"I love solving problems, but when something is really tricky I sometimes forget to ask for help. I know being a member on a team, especially a new team-member, sometimes means admitting that I don't know the answer and asking for help when I need it."
2nd Answer Example
"Meeting new people is one of my favorite things about my current customer-service job, but I know I have a tendency to get so excited about connecting with a customer that I sometimes forget to focus on other aspects of retail work, like organizing. Recently, I've been focusing on improving my multi-tasking abilities so that I can focus on customers' needs while paying attention to the work environment as well."
