"Since customers are so much more concerned about their long-term health, I helped my current company come up with a marketing campaign for (ABC) product to appeal to the health concerns of the public. I conducted market research, using surveys to identify the specific health concerns of individuals who buy our products. By promoting our new health-conscious recipe, we were able to increase sales by 15% that year!"

"In my previous role I was fortunate enough to introduce my company to the idea of a gold-level service where, in addition to our general customer service, we added additional options for our level 1 customers. Our customer base responded very positively, and we kept the program running for a few years."

While at Sainsbury's, I noticed that we left our frozen trailers running causing fuel to be wasted and contributing to emissions. These were left on for many hours as part of operation procedures for many more hours than required. I wanted to have the motors turned off when not in use, I took this up with the national controller at a monthly meeting. The Motors were turned off resulting in lower emissions, large savings in the network on fuel, and an added bonus less maintenance and breakdowns of the motors.
Marcie's Feedback
Nice! You've used the STAR method well here to describe the situation, your task/actions, and the end result. Can you add more details about exactly how you proposed this idea during the monthly meeting? Did you prepare and present a presentation that outlined all the benefits that would come from the change? How did you approach the controller in terms of your tone of voice and demeanor? Finally, if you're able to quantify any of the results (e.g., by what percentage were the emissions lowered?; exactly how much money was saved?), this will make your answer much more impactful to the interviewer. Great job!
