Describe your ideal supervisor/boss.
When the hiring manager asks this question, they want to know how to get your best every day. For example, a grocery bagger that needs constant direction will excel working for a boss that provides frequent feedback.
Think about which of your former bosses you would work for again and explain why. For example, your favorite boss may have held you accountable, so you were ready for the next promotion or took you under her wing and gave you more responsibility.
"The boss that I prefer to work for sets daily expectations provides support, acts as a mentor, and holds the team accountable. I was fortunate to work for a boss with that management style, and I felt comfortable asking questions to make sure I understood his expectations. "
