Answer Example
"I think enabling belonging for everyone starts with getting to know the people on your teams and understanding what inclusion means to them personally. In my experience, the definition of inclusion can be different for everyone and what might leave one person feeling supported would leave someone else feeling alienated. I would use this information to develop a collective vision of belonging that could work at the team level while staying in alignment with the company's vision for this goal.
The execution of this would vary and be customized to match the individuals within the team, but the core values behind it would be shared. For example, embracing diversity might look and feel different from team to team, but every team should be able to appreciate the diversity of thought. I appreciate the differences individuals have to offer, but I would continually encourage my teams to fully explore the areas in which they are in alignment and connected as this sets the stage to more easily understand differences and resolve conflicts in the future."
