The interviewer is trying to gauge how you respond to positive, critical, and constructive feedback. Demonstrate your professional maturity by giving examples of times you have received feedback and how you positively reacted to it. The ideal candidate will view feedback as an opportunity to improve and grow; someone who responds negatively to feedback will raise a red flag to the interviewer.
It's noted in many online forums that during interviews at Mayo Clinic, they may ask you a behavioral question and then critique your response to see how you respond to feedback. Keep this in mind during the interview process.

"As a new nurse, I'm very receptive to feedback. I want to know what I'm doing well and what I could do better. I keep an open mind when my superiors provide feedback so I can learn from my mistakes and continue to grow and improve my skills. Good communication is important, and I always actively listen and absorb the information when receiving feedback or coaching. I prefer to get feedback regularly rather than just once a year in an annual performance review."

"Over the years, I have received feedback, both positive and constructive. It's important to keep an open mind and listen instead of trying to form a rebuttal or reasoning in your mind while the other person is speaking. Feedback provides an opportunity to know what you're doing well and what areas you need to improve upon. Even if you feel the feedback is invalid, it's important to accept it and move on instead of allowing it to cause doubt or anxiety."

I am the type of person who thrives off of constructive criticism. I am always looking for ways to improve, and feedback from peers is the best way for me to do so. I seek out feedback regularly from peers and I see it as an opportunity to grow as a person and a nurse. I receive feedback graciously and with an open mind. I don’t take anything personally which helps me to remember that the common goal is to do what’s best for the patient.

Jaymie's Feedback
This is a great attitude to have and will be just the response the interviewer is looking for! They want to know you are receptive to feedback and use it as an opportunity to grow and develop. Don't forget to include being open to your manager's feedback as well as your peers.
Prepare for Mayo Clinic's rigorous nursing interview standards and patient-first philosophy.
