The interviewer asks this question to see that you have the strong verbal and written communication skills required to work as a Pharmacy Technician. Your job duties will include speaking to the Pharmacist, managers, coworkers, and the public. You will also be responsible for written communications when writing reports and communicating by email. The interviewer wants to hear that you have the necessary communication skills for the role.

"I have worked hard on my verbal communication skills over the past few years as I used to be extremely shy. I took public speaking courses and now feel very comfortable communicating with others. My written communication skills have always been strong, and now my verbal communication skills are as well."

"I would describe my communication skills as above average. I work very hard to ensure I speak to my customers in terms they can understand. Pharmaceutical terminology can be quite confusing for those not in the field. After explaining something to a customer, I have them repeat what I said to ensure they are clear on what I told them. Can you go into more detail on specific communication skills you possess like actively listening to ensure you understand the patient's needs, compassion and empathy when trying to understand where a person is coming from, reading nonverbal body language, emotional intelligence, clear and concise communication, etc?
