The best things about being an office assistant is the variety of work it brings. I have been an Administrative assistant for almost 10 years and have a wide range of duties that i'm responsible for. Currently I am responsible for reviewing invoices, time sheets, processing invoices, running errands, take customer service calls, order supplies, and provide support for the Executive Director and Operations Manager.

I started my own program through the school district that serviced esl and struggling students. I had a one week dead line to find and order curriculums, set up student criteria, inform parents, set up class room and prepare lesson plans. I prioritized all duties what would take the longest to accomplish and set my timeline for 5 days in order to have extra time if something didn't work according to time line.

About Office Assistant

Office assistants are largely responsible for ensuring that office operations run smoothly and efficiently. This is an administrative position. As part of their job, office assistants maintain supplies and equipment, receive and distribute communications and liaise with customers, keeping them informed about the status of their order.
While a smaller firm may employ a high school graduate to work as an office assistant, larger corporations will require a minimum bachelor's degree in business management, accounting or administration. Office assistants have excellent time-management, organizational, customer service and communication skills.
At your interview, the interviewer will want to know about your strengths and weaknesses and why you think you are the best candidate for this role.
