Question 2 of 30

Tell me about a group project you struggled with.

"The final presentation for my economics class was a group project and there were quite a few obstacles in getting the project completed. First, the project itself was very complicated, and no one in my group fully understood all the deliverables. Everyone had a different perspective and two of my classmates argued about who was right. Once we finally got clarification from the professor, we thought it would be clear sailing, but the same group members who'd argued before disagreed about how we should start the presentation. Before I knew it, there was only one week left to complete the project, and we'd made very little progress. I stepped in as a sort of mediator, suggested a compromise, and we were finally able to move forward. We did give our presentation on time, but it wasn't as strong as it could have been. I learned that in a group setting, it's important to prioritize time and sometimes it can help to respectfully intervene when there's tension between others in the group."
