As a Court Clerk, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills. Being a clear communicator in written form is an essential skill to master. If you have taken any courses in communication and writing, be sure to mention that to the interviewer. The interviewer wants to see how you describe your written communication skills to determine if you will be a good fit for their team.

Avoid saying you have poor written communication skills. If you tell the interviewer your skills are not up to par, they may dismiss you as a suitable candidate. If your written skills need some work, prioritize taking care of them before starting a career as a Court Clerk.

I have excellent written communication skills. As a result of my experience writing research papers throughout undergraduate and graduate school, I have gained plenty of knowledge on how to properly construct my words in a way that are clear and coherent. I also write in my free time as a hobby.

I would say I have strong written communication skills. In my previous job, I often utilized written communication as a secondary source to follow up my verbal communication. Also, my education career really focused on written communication.

In high school and college, I learned to write in a clear and succinct style. It helps with emailing attorneys and also creating worksheets on various topics in my department to use as a reference.

Cindy's Feedback
Great! This is exactly the writing style that the interviewer would value. You could expand by discussing the variety of your written communications to show your ability to flex when necessary depending on the audience.

My written communication skills are exemplary. Most communication in school was written, whether that be projects, papers, or emails so I have extensive experience. The job I currently have is very written communication based as well as verbal. I write daily logs, reports, and emails to a variety of individuals and groups daily at MGM. Having good communication, written or verbal, is extremely important in the position I currently hold.

Chad's Feedback

At Loyola Law School, I had this opportunity to develop my legal writing. Also, during the pandemic, I found that time was a great opportunity to focus on my legal writing to boost its level from a student level to a professional level. The company's executives have admired my writing skill several times. Now, in our company, anyone, even from different departments, who wants to publish something or write an important letter, asks me to do it!!! So, I think my writing is improving every day. And honestly, this is my second language. Still, I can feel that my writing is improving every day, just like other people, even from this country, their writing is improving every day if they are practicing it, and my goal is to be the best writer that I know.
Marcie's Feedback
Nice! The fact that you taught yourself English and how to write so well is really remarkable. It's also impressive that your colleagues (native English speakers, I'm assuming) come to you when they need a document written. The interviewer will no doubt be very impressed. Great job in differentiating yourself from others!
