While interning at the police department and juvenile detention center, I dealt with confidential information all the time. Living here for most of my life, there were, of course, names and people that I recognized. It was important for me not to share information of every name and case I came across with outsiders for their confidentiality and the confidentiality and trust of the organizations.

I was in charge of sealing cases while in Law and 'Equity. They were sealed on the computer and then placed in a separate storage situation to be kept away from everyone except certain court users. We marked in the computer who had access if anyone. I never talked about or revealed to anyone without access to the content of any case.

In my current position, confidentiality plays an important role. To the rest of the departments, we are kind of in the shadows. We deal with employee relations daily, we write individuals up, conduct investigations in fraud and theft from employees, and much more. We are held accountable by MLGCA to keep our documents confidential and not share information with other departments.
