"As a native South Carolinian, I believe I am uniquely positioned to take on this role as vice president at the Columbia office. I have spent my career working towards homelessness prevention within the city limits. In that time, we have made strides in increasing shelter access and inclusivity, but I am ready to transition from grassroots work into organizational leadership. I believe my knowledge of issues faced by individuals facing homelessness as well as my ability to navigate the city's local government will be strong assets in advancing the Salvation Army's mission in the southern United States."

"I spent two years living in the Philippines during my Peace Corps tenure. At that time, I lived in a small town south of Davao City, where I worked in community development and disaster relief following a tsunami that had devastated the area prior to my arrival. That experience put me into regular contact with local Filipinos, and I learned a great deal about the needs and concerns of the residents there. As a result, I believe I would bring a wealth of local knowledge to the Salvation Army's efforts to provide immediate disaster relief when needed as well as long-term guidance in the area of community development."
