On BP's website, when setting up your camera for the interview, they advise you to "Set yourself up on a steady surface, to prevent a wobbly recording and keep your head and shoulders in focus on the camera. Try to find somewhere which has good lighting! Try to avoid having a bright light or a window behind you." HireVue also touches on this point, "don't forget to check your lighting. Make sure it's in front of you. Lighting from behind makes it hard to see you." If you're backlit, and an AI assessment model cannot see you properly, it won't be able to read your expressions, or evaluate your performance, and might eliminate you as a candidate. Some additional tips for setting up your camera and lighting are to find a space with good natural lighting, ideally, cast evenly across your face. The camera angle should be centered at eye level. Positioning it too low will make you come across as domineering. Too high and you'll seem too weak or small.

This question is aimed at determining why you specifically want to work for BP. "Please feel free to visit our careers website" and ask "why I am a good fit for bp?" Your collective answers to each question will better assist the assessment model in determining whether you want to specifically work for BP, or if this job is more likely a placeholder until something better comes along, or a stepping stone for further salary springboarding. How passionate a candidate is about BP distinguishes themselves from their competitors and will better help with identifying their target talent. "Don't forget to show them that you are passionate to work for bp."

Go in with a full understanding of BP's values. "Always keep in mind the bp values throughout the entire process of your application, and to take some time to reflect on how your skill set and experience can contribute to reimagining bp and to reaching net zero. This is a really exciting time for bp, and it's important to bring that excitement to your application as well. The way we find and deliver energy is changing. Diversifying and decarbonizing is our future. Our purpose is reimagining energy for people and our planet. We want to help the world reach net zero and improve people's lives. Our logo, The Helios, symbolises a number of things, not least our greatest source of energy: the sun itself. The colours of the Helios, named after the Greek god of the sun, suggest heat, light and nature. It is also a pattern of interlocking shapes: like bp, a single entity created by many different parts working as one."

"Well, BP has made concerted efforts to decarbonize and switch to alternate energy sources. The helios kind of says it all as well. So I don't really see too many of BP's competitors doing that at speed. I want to work somewhere I can hold my head high, knowing I am living according to my values, which are shared by the company I work for."
