HireVue's platform enables each assessment model to be designed for the purpose of ensuring there are clear performance indicators for the role, "that differentiates the strongest from the least promising performers." They also ensure that each candidate is screened for the culture fit, and alignment with the company's values. So come prepared with an understanding of what winning looks like to their teams. "Play To Win. Know the competition. There is always someone better. We seek out different views and learn from them. Keep improving. Become more agile. Be accountable. We follow through on our promises. When we can't, or make mistakes, we own it."

Complex problem-solving sometimes requires making difficult decisions, while maintaining an understanding of the big picture, and prioritizing the needs of your superiors, team, and company above your own. This takes confidence, and being able to quickly assess the consequences of each course of action. This demonstrates integrity, experience, and strength of character. You want to project confidence and experience, and to stand out.

To improve your chances of being rated as an expert by the algorithm, think back on how you handled such challenges in the past, both mentally and procedurally. Write down these thoughts so you can easily reference them during the interview. Take account of how you systematically approach such challenges while focusing on maintaining team morale and a positive attitude. This will help you come prepared to confidently discuss how you objectively focus on the task at hand, manage your emotions, take decisive action, even in difficult situations, while preventing stress from controlling your behavior. This approach will effectively communicate your ability to do so again in the future, positioning your experience level as an expert.

"Well, I had a very important deadline approaching on a project which I was going a little above and beyond. All I had left was to do some automated processing and printing which just takes time while babysitting the computer. But then the entire department had to shift priorities due to an urgent issue. So, I quickly backed up my work, started the processing, and jumped onto the team effort. I set a timer on my watch to keep my eye on my system to make sure I could jump over and hit that button to keep the updates going. But I was already multitasking so many other things due to the departmental priorities. Then, a teammate had an issue with their system and requested my help. So, I just maintained my focus on each priority and kept juggling. Luckily, I didn't drop a single ball and closed out each issue accordingly. My project ended up being completed and printed on time. Then I got my coworker's system working, and we worked together on the other priorities. Minutes before shift end, we all breathed a sigh of relief."
