"During my last internship, my performance review rating was lower than I had expected. I met with my supervisor to establish a plan of action for improvement and set very specific targets to be met on a monthly basis. I worked really hard to meet these targets and constantly monitored my own performance. I also asked for regular feedback about my performance. After six months, my boss conducted another performance review and my rating improved. They even extended an offer for a full-time position following graduation, but I was looking to relocate and work for a larger company, so I had to decline the offer."
