Introductory questions such as these are intended to get you to relax and to present your most genuine self. So in any interview, prepare and rehearse your response well in advance. Compose a brief bio describing who you are as a person and as a professional. This is your one chance to deliver an elevator pitch which serves as a great first impression. But be sure to take the advice WTW offers on their website: "Be yourself. While it's important to conduct yourself with professionalism, don't be afraid to let your personality shine through."

Kevin Downey has an extensive background in business management, recruiting, branding and marketing. He's volunteered his career coaching services at job fairs, lecturing on interview techniques and crafting winning resumes and cover letters.
WTW details on their careers site, "We're using HireVue assessments at the start of our recruitment process, focused on the skills that are most relevant to the role. These enable us to establish whether you're the right match for our roles and crucially, that we are setting you up with the best chances of success if you are progressed to final stages of our process. Treat this interview just like any other interview."
Even though you are talking to the algorithm, you want to imagine you are speaking to a real person. So try to come across as relaxed as possible, speaking in a level yet enthusiastic tone. Maintain eye contact, and smile softly. Confidence, poise, and natural is the demeanor you want to strike.
HireVue calls the algorithms that analyze your interview "assessment models." "HireVue Assessments take the place of the same kinds of things that a recruiter or hiring manager would be looking for in a candidate for the job you're applying for." Their assessment models combine "video interviews with predictive, validated IO science and artificial intelligence. HireVue augments human decision-making in the hiring process and delivers higher quality talent, faster."
The algorithms record your video interview and then analyze your facial expressions, eye movements, body movements, clothing details, and vocal inflections. By evaluating every data point and the consistency of your answers, it will attempt to determine the level of your honesty, skill level, and attempt to predict your future job performance. It then compiles its findings into a report and passes it on with the recorded interview to the company's hiring authority for further study.
"Well, both of my parents worked in consulting. When I was in school pursuing a marketing degree, I was also a DJ for the university's independent music station. Fun fact, on air, my nickname was The Gator. So, anyway, I love music and find that music helps me focus and think outside of the box, whether at home or at work. Another fun fact, I actually took a course on music anthropology, and since then have created playlists that motivate and increase productivity for myself and my teams. Anyway, I learned a lot in the past four years in my current position, and built a lot of relationships there, but feel I have followed through on the opportunities available to me. So, I wanted to find a long-term fit more in line with my goals and ideal work environment. So I spent some time examining where I would like to end up next, and WTW seems aligned with my values, ideals, and career aspirations. So, here I am. So glad to be here."
