One WTW employee advises that candidates "come with a general understanding of what we do at WTW." They also state on their candidate hints and tips page, "We don't expect you to be an expert on our business. But the best candidates tend to have a general understanding of what we do and how we do it." However, it is entirely up to you as to how far you want to go to showcase your work ethic. If you want to show them how your work standard is that of going above and beyond, then put in the extra time to learn all you can. It will show. This is what will set you apart from the other candidates.

When familiarizing yourself with WTW's history, its important to go deeper and explore their values. For example, WTW describes how they've been putting clients first since 1828, and that "a history of shared values, a strong client focus, an emphasis on teamwork, unwavering integrity, mutual respect and a constant striving for excellence are the values at the core of WTW's rich history. These values will continue to define our approach to business and our relationship with our clients, now and in the future. Many of our clients have been with us from our earliest days. Whether they first came to us for brokerage services or actuarial work, they were met with respect, a strong sense of advocacy, and an emphasis on excellence."
Take time to prepare against anything contradicting the message you are trying to send. For example, don't do anything that might suggest you haven't fully prepared for your interview. Have a glass of water ready in case you need it during the interview. Use the restroom before you begin. Close any unnecessary browsers or applications, silence notifications, and get your computer ready. Silence your phone. Ensure you've got the strongest Wi-Fi signal possible. Make sure your microphone is working properly. Make yourself comfortable. Ensure you are in a relatively quiet room, free of distractions with as little background noise as possible. If you're not home alone, give everyone a heads-up that you are about to record your interview and ask them to be respectfully quiet. If this is not an option, wait for an opportunity to be alone. Remember, you can record your interview anytime, anywhere.
"I familiarized myself a bit with the extensive and layered history of the company. But, what I am hyper-aware of is how the company shares my values. I am very client-focused and team-focused, and integrity is my number one core value. I thrive in a workplace where everyone treats each other with mutual respect."
