Before they even considering hiring any candidate, they need to ensure that potential recruit will be effectively able to communicate with their clients and their teams in a manner that favorably represents their company culture. On WTW's website, they describe their approach to good communication strategies in the following statements: "When it comes to employee communication, it's not just about getting words on paper. It's about reaching the right people at the right time with the right message, inspiring behavior change, and capturing purpose. Understand the drivers of behavior change. Understand what's working and what isn't, and adjust along the way. Determine what barriers need effective interventions. Take complex concepts and simplify them so that they are easy to understand. The bottom line: Communication strategies help drive behavior change."
Remember, HireVue's assessment model will evaluate you for your consistency. So you want to showcase your strong communication skills not only with this question, but in every question. So try to make your responses as structured and concise as possible. Avoid rambling or delivering roundabout answers. Try to speak evenly and in a measured tone, without depending on any speech crutch words, such as "um," "like," "um," "you know," among others. Be mindful of your choice of words as well, and what they potentially might suggest beyond your intended meaning.

Some find it helpful to record their voice while answering questions as a method for identifying tics they weren't aware they were dependent on. Others find it helpful to practice in front of their computer's camera while not looking at themself on the screen, but rather maintaining eye contact with the camera lens as if speaking face-to-face with a person. So, practice meditating on what you want to say, while speaking in a natural and evenly paced tone. Enunciate your words, avoiding stutters or long pauses. Try to come across as natural. Sounding too rehearsed likewise can make you sound wooden and dull.
"I am a fan of the adage, 'the message sent is the message received.' I want to make sure that I am communicating the right message, the right way, right away at all times. I need to reach my teams, and the way to get them to understand me is by making sure they are understood. So I need to connect with each one of them, to inspire, and to motivate."
