QUESTION 28 OF 35

How would you determine priorities when you would have multiple tasks at hand on the job at Qatar Airways?

A busy day on the job at Qatar Airways will find you juggling multiple things at one time. In asking this question, your interviewer wants to hear that you would join their team with the ability to prioritize your tasks by what is the most important. They'll also need to hear that you have the ability to stay organized on the job so that no tasks are missed.

"I will determine which project requires my attention by the number of hours we are behind and then the project size. I am comfortable delegating tasks when needed, but I am also aware that these times will require an additional commitment of hours from me. Never have I underdelivered on a deadline and I owe this in part to my ability to keep my work organized."

"If, for example, I have more than one customer who needs me, I will page for assistance so that nobody is left waiting. It's essential to have team members that you can rely on to step in when you become too busy. In these times, I make sure to communicate with everyone waiting an expected wait time and thank them for their patience. The best approach is to maintain a positive attitude and to communicate expectations."

First, you want to talk about your ability to prioritize your work by handling the high needs work first. At Qatar Airways, this would likely involve tasks surrounding safety and service. Then, try to point out to your interviewer the methods, tools, and resources you use to keep your busy job organized and on track for success. To tie your answer together, don't hesitate to talk about a past job where you had to master multitasking and prioritizing your work.

Anonymous Answer

I list the tasks at hand and identify what is urgent vs. important. I will then prioritize them based on what needs immediate attention and also order them based on estimated effort. I also like to be flexible, and adaptable should other issues arise.
