"I rate my problem-solving skills as an 8/10. I will, on occasion, have times when I am not as efficient as I would like to be, but all in all, I do feel that my problem-solving skills are above average. My supervisor and coworkers will attest to my fast reflexes when a problem arises, and they would also say that I remain calm under pressure."

As a healthcare professional, you must have strong problem-solving skills. Focus on giving yourself a high rating with justification for that rating, and be sure not to rate yourself too low.

"I have a letter of recommendation from a previous supervisor who commented on my amazing problem-solving skills. Based on that letter, I would rate myself a 9. I did not rate myself a 10 because I know there are always ways to improve my skills."

I would rate my problem-solving skills as 8. I have received from my previous managers and colleagues about how I think and react fast in critical situations. That they can always rely on me. The reason I give myself an 8 is that I am sure when I work in your workplace, I will have a fresh challenge and I will have more to learn for me to be able to problem-solve efficiently.
Marcie's Feedback
Nice! Choosing to rate yourself in this area as an 8 is good because it shows that while you're confident in your problem-solving abilities, you still recognize that there's always room for improvement. It's also positive that you mention feedback you've received from managers and colleagues as this gives your claims more credibility. To further strengthen your answer, use the STAR method to provide an example highlighting your problem-solving capabilities. The interviewer wants assurance that you are a quick and creative problem solver. Good job!
