If you have something that will show up in your background check, focus on being honest and upfront with the interviewer. Explain what they will find during your background check and describe what happened. If the interviewer sees that your offense was minor or that you were a juvenile at the time, they may overlook the charge. If you do not have a criminal background, tell them you consent to a full background as you have nothing to hide.
