Advice and answer examples written specifically for a Mercy Health job interview.
3. Do you think it is possible to be a good team member, yet disagree with the leader?
Why the Interviewer Asks This Question
The interviewer wants to know that you can be diplomatic in the workplace, even when you may disagree with your leader. Show the interviewer that you can be a good team member yet disagree with the leader occasionally. Explain that you believe everyone is entitled to their own professional opinion yet capable of maintaining respect for each other simultaneously. Be sure to mention that even if you disagree with the final decision they make, you support the direction the team is heading.

2nd Answer Example
"I believe that being a good team member is more about attitude than compatibility. You do not need to agree with everyone 100% of the time to be effective in your job. I recently had a supervisor ask our team to do something we disagreed with. But, it wasn't something that was unethical or immoral, so we figured he had a reason for wanting us to do that assignment in that manner."
