"I received an enticing offer for employment from a company in Silicon Valley. The pay was very attractive, as were their benefits. I would, of course, have to relocate to San Francisco, which also seemed attractive. However, the company's culture and values didn't align with mine, and I struggled with whether I would be happy in that environment. I used the salary to justify my interest, but when I decided it wasn't the best fit, I looked more closely at the salary compared to the cost of living. That was when I decided the cons outweighed the pros and turned the offer down. A few people in my family were disappointed I hadn't taken the opportunity, but I think I made a wise choice."
