"I am very much an over-achiever and find that the best way for me to be recognized for a job well done is words of kindness and recognition. I am easily encouraged, and the best reward for me is to know that my hard work is being noticed."

"I do not like public recognition all that much as I prefer to do my job well, regardless of being recognized. When I have a major achievement, I would prefer a phone call from my supervisor saying a good job. Also, I like to be awarded additional responsibilities."

I've won awards and been recognized publicly but often I'd rather not be the center of attention. One of the best recognitions I've gotten was a short, personalized note expressing gratitude for some work I did. Simply making note of something that I've worked hard on is often all it takes for me. Over time, I'd hope that small gestures lead to increased trust and responsibilities.

Nice! The interviewer will appreciate your honesty. Can you talk more about what work you did that led to someone sending you a thank you note? Additional details will make your answer even more memorable. Good job!
