This is a follow up to the previous question. During an interview, you can anticipate that you will be asked follow-up questions after providing an answer. This is why you should keep your answers brief and to the point. This allows the interviewer the opportunity to ask a follow-up question if they haven't done enough information or want to explore the topic in more detail.

"There are a variety of tools IT business analysts commonly use. My favorites are Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowePoint, MS Visio, and Rational tools. As mentioned earlier, I also know how to write SQL queries, which is a tool I use extensively."

There are a variety of tools I have used as an IT business analyst. I first which comes to my mind is JIRA which is the product design management tool where we can create stories, estimating them, and keep track of them. JIRA also helps in keeping the track of the velocity of the team. Other commonly used tools are Microsoft Office Suite that includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, MS Visio, and Office 365. On the database side, I extensively use SQL query language and Tableau for creating visualizations and dashboards.

Including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and MS Visio.
Marcie's Feedback
Great! These are all good tools to mention. What about Access, Google Analytics, or Tableau? To make a good impression with the interviewer, be sure to mention all the tools you know how to use. If you mention any that their company uses, this will be in your favor. You could also provide some reasons why you use these various tools (e.g., to collect and sort data, write documents, generate graphs, and design visualizations).

As part of my role, I interact with a number of tools. To enhance communication I often use flowcharts and use cases and UML diagrams. To better analyze a given problem or potential solution I often use fishbone diagrams, SWOT analysis, and Pareto analysis charts. To gather requirements I often use surveys, interviews, and workshop sessions. Recently, I've started to use case tools since they offer a more neat approach to having all of your tools into an organized matrix.

Amanda's Feedback
I really like the way you organized this answer by sharing why you use particular tools before listing the applicable tools. This makes it easy for the interviewer to understand the applications of each.
