As part of this Administrative Fellowship program, you may be asked to lead diverse teams that focus on improving the quality, safety, ethics, community health, and/or emergency preparedness of the institution. While they'll ask a few questions regarding your leadership skills, this question allows your interviewers to gauge your ability to motivate an otherwise busy team on any projects/workgroups that you lead.

"My formula for a motivated team is to get to know them, uncover what they are passionate about, and find out how they like to be recognized. If I can provide my team with proper recognition, tasks that they enjoy and feel they are good at - then they will perform as well as possible. I know that the groups I will be leading will come from all across the organization and have very busy day-to-day work. To keep them motivated on my team, having clearly outlined goals and deadlines will be vital. Consistent communications and meeting schedules will also be important."

Being that most teams you will lead as an Administrative Fellow come from many different areas of the institution and all have their own busy schedule, you'll want to take a very pointed approach to answer this question. Some great tips to keep in mind for helping keep a team motivated are having a clear vision and goals for the team, keeping lines of communication open, giving positive feedback on progress, and encouraging open thoughts from the team.
