If an interviewer asks you about working overtime, it is safe to assume that is the expectation. However, we all have probably experienced that the outcome of assumptions is not always pretty! This situation is where asking additional clarifying questions is essential. Overtime can be rough, but at least you're getting compensated for it. Find out if it overtime is expected every week and then you can decide for yourself if it is something you would be willing to do. Ask questions first!

I think there is nothing wrong with occasionally working overtime hours if it's justified; however, I also need the time outside of work to invest in myself so that I'm more productive and effective in the workplace. Do most people work over 40 hours every week, or is this dependent on the season?
