1. Would you rather work face to face with clients, or in the background in a research and analysis based role?
What You Need to Know
Your interviewer is curious whether you are an introvert, an ambivert, or an extrovert. How you answer could indicate how adaptable you are and how well you would fit into their culture. Their website states that they are "seeking enthusiastic, flexible and motivated people who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of our customers. You'll be tech-savvy and agile, and you'll know exactly why you want to be part of the Suncorp Team. The capabilities we are looking for include customer focus, interpersonal and communication skills, problem-solving, adaptability, accountability, learning agility, and collaboration." Your interviewer is likely aware that most people are ambiverts who lean a little towards introvert or extrovert. "One of my supervisors asked that I turn in a sensitive report by the end of the day. I over-committed, taking on too many tasks that day. I was trying to please and show off my ambition, but I lacked realistic time management skills at the time and struggled to complete them by the end of my shift. So, I stayed late to get it all done. But that supervisor left for the day, and I wanted to deliver it to them. I wasn't sure if I should just leave it on their desk or not. Then, another supervisor, who was quite new, told me to just give it to them, and they'd pass it along. I agreed. The next day, the first supervisor asked where the report was, and I told them I gave it to the other supervisor. Only then did I learn that the other supervisor just left for vacation. They were unreachable, and no one could find the report. I ended up having to reconstruct the report. I didn't have to start from scratch, but it added another hour and a half of work, and it was not submitted on time.
