Question 5 of 35

How would you handle an issue with a policy or procedure?

"I didn't always agree with the structure of my professor's lesson assignment due dates. For example, we were required to submit a post by Thursday and respond to two other students' posts by Saturday. It was difficult to have my assignments based on another student because students often submitted initial posts late, causing me to readjust my schedule and not work ahead. I provided the feedback in a course survey, but ultimately, I respected the professor's decision and encouraged my classmates to post their assignments on time."

      1st Answer Example

"I know well enough at this point in my career that policies and procedures are in place for a reason. If I don't understand the reasoning behind the policy, I will ask for further clarification in a respectful and open-minded way."

      2nd Answer Example

"I would first talk with my manager to ensure I understood the expectation correctly. There could have been a miscommunication, or I could have misinterpreted my manager's expectations. If I still had an issue, I would take time to think about how to deal with it. I've learned to pick my battles and be adaptable as much as I can."
