This year I have read about pharmacogenetics. It is just fascinating and truly important to be able to know what kind of medication will work on a person. An individual will be able to know which medication will be most effective to take. This is extremely important also with the ongoing opioid crisis. We could eventually avoid unnecessary pain medications. I also read about Virtual Reality technology for medical students. Which I think is a valuable tool to use for aspiring doctors. Medical students will be able to practice medical/surgical procedures through virtual reality devices and get them well prepared before doing the procedure on an actual patient.
