"I manage my time by exercising the idea of 'time-blocking.' This method means that I won't incessantly check my email; instead, I will allow myself to return emails in 30-minute time blocks, four times per day. Setting calendar alerts and personal deadlines for myself has also helped a lot."

I have a separate calendar for work and home, but I also use my iPhone to sync all my work & home tasks. That way, I can look ahead on which days I'm busy and which days I'm not so busy. I also have a daily to-do list for work. I get the satisfaction of crossing out a task or project when it's done. The list gets updated all the time. Having a list and knowing exactly what needs to be done on a particular day makes it easier.
