Tell me about the last time you stepped outside of your comfort zone.

On Heineken's website, they describe their ideal talent as pioneers who look at their careers as a journey. "Embark on a journey with us. Getting ready for a new challenge in a new company is not always easy. It is about learning new things and acquiring new skills. It is about experiencing new territories, building new relationships, and performing in the role. It is hard work! Do you dare to stretch yourself?"

"I would say that the last time I stepped outside of my comfort zone was when I committed to home brewing a West coast style IPA. Sometime you just have to make the leap. And in truth, it didn't turn out as I hoped. But I learned what I could from the process and got back to it. Sure, it was a bad batch, but it was worth the time, money and effort, because what I learned from that first bad batch resulted in the second batch being the finest brew I'd yet crafted. As a hobby, I started on this beer and beverage journey. I love to continue that journey professionally."
