"My reaction to employee theft would differ if I were a retail associate or a retail manager. If I were a manager and caught an employee stealing, I would terminate them immediately. If I were an associate, I would report the incident according to company protocol. I would avoid approaching the employee as I would not want to make it a personal issue."

"I value honesty so if I saw a co-worker stealing; I would tell my manager immediately. Do you have a process in place for reporting these types of situations?"

My reaction would be different depending on if it was an associate or a manager
If it were a manager catching an employee stealing, I would terminate that employee immediately. If it were an employee seeing another employee stealing, I would refer to the company's protocol. So that wouldn't make it personal and stir up bad moral in the store.

Great response. You provided different responses to differences in staff status.
Depending on the status (or rank) of the employee, my response would vary. If I witnessed the person stealing and they are a direct report/employee of mine, I would have a meeting with the employee to go over our strict Loss Prevention policies, and terminate the employee. If, however, an associate claimed their peer was stealing, I would refer to the company's protocol to ensure I follow the correct procedure. I would investigate the situation as I am instructed to ensure false claims aren't being made.
