I think it was smart to remain general about this topic, especially since you will be in a management role. You know a tool such as an incentive can help boost productivity in employees.
I do not believe performance incentives are required for employees to do a great job. I do, however, think they can be useful in piquing the interest of employees and provide a change in the normality of the job.
