"I have worked in retail for the past eight years. My most challenging position was with Company ABC. I found it so challenging because it was a different industry than I was accustomed. I learned a great deal during that time. This position was also my favorite because it was such a great challenge. I like to be pushed beyond my boundaries. It keeps me motivated to be better."

"My most challenging position, and also my most favorite position, would be my current role. I would not normally choose to leave; however, I need to find a position related to my newly acquired degree. In my current position, the hours are great, my co-workers are nice, and I receive fair compensation."

I have been in retail for lots of years, and I would have to say that my most challenging position was when I became a store manager. The reason that I picked the store manager to be the most challenging was that I got to be a training store manager for the company that I worked for. I got to travel to different states in the Midwest. My challenge was that I had to move every six months. But it was cool because I got help others get better at there job.

This is a great answer. You stand out because training and traveling may not be experiences other candidates have had.
I have worked in retail for many years and was promoted to Store Manager. I was recognized for my strengths in retail and management, and eventually took on a Training Store Manager position. This was particularly challenging because I was required to move every six months and travel to numerous stated in the Midwest. I thoroughly enjoyed helping and training people to increase their skills and performance, but the constant traveling aspect was challenging.
