"I completed my Bachelor of Applied Technology from Carnegie Mellon University in 2004. During that time, I specialized in data management and analysis, which taught me how to grasp abstract data models to drive better decision-making for my team. Additionally, my capstone project helped me sharpen my teamwork skills and ability to work with various perspectives."

"I hold a bachelor's degree in finance with a minor in computer science from Penn State. After graduating, I moved to New York and spent two and a half years in IB with XYZ Bank. During that time, my interest in crypto slowly developed, and I began spending my free time learning all I could about this space and trading. I feel that my formal education gave me the hard and soft skills to succeed in IB and this role with Binance. Above all, my education and early career were both quite demanding, and I learned how to prioritize tasks and work under pressure effectively."

While your post-secondary education is likely listed on your resume, the interviewer would like more detail than what your resume provides. Perhaps you graduated at the top of your class or received notable accolades or recognition while pursuing your degree. You can even discuss an industry-relevant course that intrigued you or sparked an interest in the field.

Jaymie's Feedback
It may still be worth sharing your educational program as formal education is still valuable, even if the degree isn't completely related. Then, you can go into informal training you've completed or certificates you have earned. If you do not have either of those, you could explain that you have more on-the-job training than formal education, and share if you're open to pursuing a related degree in the future.
