Binance strives for direct and succinct communication in the workplace. How do you approach explaining a complex idea in simple terms?
The interviewer wants to get a sense of your personality, communication style, and ability to explain complex concepts in simple terminology. Describe your communication approach when you need to help someone understand a complex topic.
"I strive for a straightforward and concise communication style with clients and colleagues. In my previous role as a financial advisor, I focused on listening to my clients and their most pressing financial needs and goals. I made an effort to echo their language and avoid esoteric ideas that I knew wouldn't be relevant to what they needed to hear. Above all, I ensure that my tone is never condescending towards clients or colleagues. I often learn something new from those I work with and value their input."
"To communicate a complex topic effectively, I strive to convey the essence of an idea in simple terms rather than deep-diving into the details of more technical matters. This is an important component of communication within the crypto industry. Furthermore, If I'm having trouble explaining a new concept in simple terminology, I've found that it usually means that I have to do more research. I place value on continuous learning within the industry via publications, newsletters, podcasts, and conferences. Staying educated allows me to explain complicated ideas in a way that makes sense to people new to or outside of our industry."
Albert Einstein once said, "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough." Since Binance has a remote-first environment, clear communication with your leaders, team members, clients, and other stakeholders is incredibly vital. Take time to show the interviewer that you understand how important clear and concise communication is to Binance. Then, demonstrate your ability to break down complex ideas into digestible information.

I use the analogy a lot in order to explain something complex. The idea is simplified and familiarises complex things and makes things easier to grasp for people without the notion of complex things. Also, use easier terms and words rather than unfamiliar words or terms when explaining something complex to those without the notion of it.
