I was a personal banker and I had a customer who had applied for a new visa card. The card production was delayed at the card center and the customer was going to travel outside the country so she needed the card during her travel. When she came in to collect the card, it wasn't ready and she was not going to take no for an answer. I let her vent her frustrations and I apologized. I let her know I understood her frustrations. I was honest with her, and I did not try to give her false hope as it was only going to make the bad situation even worse. I engaged my manager and suggested that we deliver the card to her even if she was at the airport. My manager agreed, and thankfully the card was ready before she flew out so we managed to deliver it to her at the airport which was mind-blowing to her. She did not think we would actually drive all the way to the airport to give her the card.
In the end, she was the happiest client and she spoke well about me as an individual, the branch, and the bank as a whole.
